Brought in a Seiko that had been gaining almost two minutes a day. The timing sheet showed it was running at +58 seconds a day before the adjustment, and after it was within three seconds across all five positions. That is exactly what I wanted — numbers, not just assurances. The watch has held the rate for six weeks now.

Had a Tissot with a cracked crystal that I had been putting off repairing for months. The replacement was clean — you cannot tell it is not the original. They sent me a short note describing what they fitted and the pressure check result. Took about three days, which was quicker than I expected. The only small thing was that parking on Jalan Wong Ah Fook can be a bit of a hunt during peak hours.

My late father's Omega had not been serviced in at least eight years. Rahman looked at it at intake and gave me a realistic sense of what a full service would involve and what it would cost. No surprises on the invoice. The long-form report they issued afterwards is something I plan to keep with the watch. The amplitude figures improved significantly compared to what they measured before service.

I called ahead to ask whether they could service a Grand Seiko SBGR261. Rahman confirmed it was within scope and described what the service would involve. The watch came back in about two and a half weeks. The beat error figure in the report was well below one millisecond. I have sent two more watches since.

Straightforward crystal replacement on a Longines. They sourced the correct flat sapphire with the right case-profile fit — I had been quoted generic replacements elsewhere that were not quite the right diameter. The pressure check gave me confidence the case was properly sealed. Work was clean and the cost was what they said it would be.

I was not sure whether my Tudor needed a full service or just a regulation. Siti and Rahman listened to what I described, looked at the watch, and advised that regulation alone would address my concern. I appreciated that they did not push me towards the more expensive service. The regulation was done well and the one-page record is a useful document to keep.

Three Jobs in Detail

CASE STUDY 01 · TIMING REGULATION

Seiko Automatic, Five Years Since Last Service

THE SITUATION

The owner noticed the watch gaining more than a minute each day — enough to need resetting every few days. The movement had last been serviced five years prior and was otherwise running without issue.

WHAT WAS DONE

Intake note, Witschi measurement in five positions — crown-up showed +68 s/d, crown-down +41 s/d. Regulator lever adjusted, follow-up pass run the following morning. Rate brought to within four seconds across all positions.

OUTCOME

Watch returned with one-page timing record. Owner confirmed by message three weeks later that the rate had held. Turnaround: four working days.

CASE STUDY 02 · CRYSTAL REPLACEMENT

Longines Conquest, Impact Damage to Crystal

THE SITUATION

A corner impact produced a chip in the crystal edge and a hairline crack toward the centre. The crystal was still intact but the damage was visually prominent and raised concern about the case seal over time.

WHAT WAS DONE

Replacement sapphire sourced to match case diameter and profile. Case exterior cleaned and crown gasket inspected during fitment. Tension ring and crystal gasket replaced. Static pressure test completed after reassembly.

OUTCOME

Crystal seated cleanly, pressure check passed. Specification note issued. Customer noted the fit was indistinguishable from the original. Turnaround: three working days.

CASE STUDY 03 · COMPREHENSIVE SERVICE

Omega Seamaster, Unserviced for Seven Years

THE SITUATION

The watch had been in daily use for seven years without service. Power reserve had reduced noticeably and the rate had become inconsistent between positions — symptoms of deteriorating lubricant in the gear train.

WHAT WAS DONE

Full disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, manufacturer-spec lubrication. Canon pinion showed minor wear; owner consulted and agreed to replacement. Regulation in five positions. Static pressure check. Long-form service report compiled.

OUTCOME

Amplitude improved from 198° to 264° (dial-up). Rate within ±5 s/d across all five positions. Beat error 0.4 ms. Report issued. Turnaround: 17 working days including part sourcing.
